ModernBrain Speech and Debate Workshop

On Saturday, July 8th at 1 PM PDT,  Asian Youth Liberty League (ALLY) will be collaborating with ModernBrain for a Speech and Debate Workshop.

ALLY is a student-run 501 c(3) nonprofit that trains young Asian Americans to be better thinkers, speakers, and leaders.

ModernBrain has been recognized as one of the best programs in the nation for speech, debate, mock trial, and model united nations classes. They also offer admissions counseling. ModernBrain serves students ages 6 and up via online and in-person classes.

The workshop will include working closely with ModernBrain coaches John, Iain, and Cody, so spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis!

Meet the Coaches

John worked at the Department of Justice, where he helped redesign internal communications. Throughout his career, John has helped lawyers, financial planners, and other professionals advocate for themselves. While he enjoyed his work with the Department of Justice and financial planners, helping teach younger people the competitive skills they needed to improve their lives truly inspired him to found ModernBrain.

Cody attended the illustrious Howard University, where he obtained his BA in Film and Television and won an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) National Championship in Persuasive Speaking. Cody was recognized as the #1 witness in the United States of America (a double-sided, top-ranked All-American) during his senior year. While at Howard, Cody served on the HU Speech and Debate and Mock Trial teams, as well as a member of the Howard Players.
