ALLY Leadership Fellowship
Executive Fellows
Asian Youth Liberty League (ALLY) is seeking undergraduate fellows for the summer of 2024. Ideally, fellows should be available for 10 hours/week beginning in June 2024 for a total of 12 weeks. The fellowship will be virtual with options for being hybrid.
The fellowship will primarily focus on assisting ALLY’s student boards (composed of high school students) with event planning and community outreach. ALLY plans a variety of events every summer, including speaker events featuring members of congress, skills workshops, and voter registration drives. Events this summer will be focused on racial justice and advocating for Asian Americans.
Fellows will have the opportunity to attend these meetings, give the student boards their advice, and guide the chapters in strategic decisions about fundraising, event planning, and social media promotion. Fellows will also plan and execute their own fundraising plan.
Compensation: Fellows will receive a stipend of $500 at the end of the summer.
Responsibilities
Fellows will have the opportunity to work on:
Skills in nonprofit management
Advocacy and community organizing
Grant research and application
Strategic decision-making at the grassroots, nonprofit level.
Presenting information in a compelling manner
Close supervision, and evaluation sessions to provide feedback and support.
Qualifications
Currently in-college or upcoming college freshman
Experience in project management and communication is preferred
A proficient level of knowledge and understanding of (or strong interest in) any Asian Languages and/or cultures [including but not limited to Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Polynesian languages, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Indonesian, etc are preferred
Social Media Fellow

The fellow will primarily focus on assisting ALLY’s social media management and marketing our events and announcement
Fellows will have the opportunity to attend these meetings, learn about social media management and nonprofit communication management, and guide the chapters in strategic decisions about marketing, public relation, and social media promotion.
Compensation: Fellows will receive a stipend of $500 at the end of the summer.
Responsibilities
Fellows will learn and be exposed to:
Skills in nonprofit management communication and marketing
Advocacy and community organizing
Strategic decision-making at the grassroots, nonprofit level.
Presenting information in a compelling manner
Make post on varies of social media platform using social media calendar.
Graphic design for posters or infographic, video editing
Qualifications
Currently in-college
Experience or taken equivalent educational courses in communication, marketing/PR, social media, and graphic design is strongly preferred
Self-motivated and willing to initiate in leading project in a remote setting.
